Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist customers, operate the cash register, stock merchandise, and support management in achieving store profitability and assets protection.

In this role you lead by example in the absence of Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager and perform duties of a Sales Associate as needed. A high school diploma and some supervisory experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase, collect payment and give change.
• Stock merchandise, restock and rotate on shelves; build merchandise displays.
• Clean the store; manage trash; dust and mop floors; clean restrooms and stockroom; set up sidewalk displays.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
• Open and close the store under Store Manager direction.
• Perform additional duties in the absence of Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
