Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to help maintain a clean, customer-first store and lead in the absence of store management. Responsibilities include assisting customers, operating the cash register, stocking, merchandising, and maintaining store safety and cleanliness.

The role requires high school completion and some supervisory experience, with a focus on accuracy in transactions, planogram compliance, and creating a positive shopping environment.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations including percentages.
• Ability to operate a cash register and related equipment.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases, collect payment and make change.
• Stock and rotate merchandise; build displays and follow planograms.
• Keep store clean and organized; manage trash, floors, restrooms and stockroom.
• Open and close the store under Store Manager direction.
• Perform duties in absence of Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
