Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Clinical Unit Leader for St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital to coordinate patient care on a designated unit.

The Lead RN/Charge Nurse collaborates with the Clinical Manager to foster excellence, efficiency, and a respectful environment for patients and staff. Responsibilities include adjusting schedules, supervising staff, ensuring safety and infection control, and communicating care plans with families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• RN license in state you work or compact license.
• BLS certification preferred on hire; must obtain prior to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Adjusts schedules and patient assignments to accommodate changes in acuity and resources.
• Provides guidance and oversight in the unit in the absence of the unit leader.
• Maintains knowledge of safety standards and infection control; uses supplies and equipment appropriately.
• Communicates effectively with patients and families regarding nursing interventions and care plan.
• Participates in ongoing quality monitoring and performance improvement.
