Job summary

Rocket Lab USA is seeking a Senior RF Phased Array Engineer I to lead the development of new RF products and assess COTS components at our Long Beach HQ. You will model antenna performance and work with RF, digital, power, mechanical, thermal, and structural engineers to ensure designs meet program needs.

The role emphasizes transitioning developments to production, interfacing with vendors and customers, and delivering robust space-grade RF systems with strong test and documentation practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Fundamental RF knowledge including link budget analysis and linearity.
• Solid understanding of RF communications and navigation systems and components.

Responsibilities

• Lead end to end product development efforts including architecture design, prototyping, integration, test, and flight development.
• Model and simulate array performance.
• Lead efforts with RF, digital, power, mechanical, thermal, and structural engineers.
• Transition developments from new product introduction to production.
• Interface with vendors and customers.
• Develop test plans for testing active antennas (EIRP & G/T).
• Design and development of ground support equipment and production automation.
• Support product documentation including ICDs and User Manuals.
