Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist customers, operate the cash register, stock and rotate merchandise, and help set up displays.

You may lead in the Store Manager's absence and undertake additional duties as assigned. Ideal candidates have strong communication, math and safety knowledge, plus prior supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.

• Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Ability to operate a cash register and handle cash accurately.
• Knowledge of cash handling policies and cashier accountability.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to total purchases and provide change.
• Stock merchandise and build displays; follow planograms.
• Keep the store clean and organized; assist with side displays.
• Open and close the store under supervision and in the manager's absence.
• Perform duties typical of a lead in the absence of the Store Manager.
