Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate in a full-time capacity to support store profitability and customer satisfaction. You will assist customers, operate a cash register, stock merchandise, and maintain a clean store under the direction of the Store Manager.

In this lead role you will help with opening/closing and may act in a supervisory capacity in the absence of management. You will contribute to protecting company assets and providing a positive shopping experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Strong interpersonal and cash-handling skills.
• Ability to operate a cash register and perform basic math.
• Familiarity with safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and process purchases, collect payments, bag merchandise.
• Stock, restock and rotate merchandise; build displays; follow planograms.
• Clean the store and maintain a tidy environment; manage trash and restrooms.
• Open/close the store under supervision and assist when manager is absent.
