Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to provide customer-focused leadership in a fast-paced store environment. Responsibilities include assisting customers, operating cash registers, stocking merchandise, and maintaining store cleanliness.

The role supports planogram execution and may step in for the Store Manager as needed. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and preferred supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations and percentages.
• Ability to operate cash register and drawer.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit controls.
• Ability to transport deposits to bank as needed.
• Six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service leadership and assist shoppers.
• Operate cash register, total purchases, take payments and bag items.
• Stock, restock, and rotate merchandise; build displays per planograms.
• Keep store clean; manage trash, floors, restrooms and stockroom areas.
• Open/close store under Store Manager direction; assist in other duties.
• Support in tasks typically performed by Store Manager in their absence.
