Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Cashier/Stocker to operate the register, assist customers, restock shelves, and help maintain plan-o-grams in the absence of the store manager. You will lead in daily operations, ensure merchandise is faced and displays are set, and support with banking deposits when needed.

As part of the team, you will greet customers, process transactions, keep the store clean and safe, and contribute to a positive shopping experience while protecting company assets.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math calculations and handle cash accurately.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures, cashier accountability, and deposit control.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and receive shipments as per store process.
• Stock and rotate merchandise, build displays, and face shelves.
• Restock returned or recovered merchandise and manage orders for zones.
• Assist customers in locating items and provide exemplary service.
• Operate cash register, total purchases, bag items, and give change.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintain displays in absence of manager.
• Keep front end clean, maintain registers, and support safety and security practices.
• Open/close the store under direction of area management and handle refunds/overrides when needed.
