Job summary

Dollar General in the United States seeks a Cashier and/or Stocker to serve in a lead capacity when the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager is absent. You will help set plan-o-grams, provide exemplary customer service, and perform duties to maximize profitability and teamwork while protecting assets.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking, rotating stock, greeting customers, operating the register, and ensuring a clean, safe store.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; supervisory experience preferred.
• Six months supervisory or related experience or training is preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math with cash handling.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash registers and basic POS functions.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; safety conscious.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks following store procedures.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate, and face merchandise; build displays.
• Restock returned merchandise and assist in plan-o-grams.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and provide service leadership.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety; handle end-of-day cash procedures.
• Open/close store under direction of Area Manager.
