Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a capable Cashier/Stocker to support store operations and lead in the absence of the Store Manager. You will greet customers, process transactions, stock merchandise, and maintain presentation and safety standards.

The role requires basic math, cash handling, and plan-o-gram knowledge, with emphasis on customer service and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes following prescribed processes.
• Stock, rotate, face merchandise on shelves and build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Order zones and drop shipments as directed by the Store Manager.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Maintain a clean, organized store and safe environment.
• Greet customers entering the store and manage front-end area.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise, handle payments and make change.
