Responsibilities

PuroClean of Huntington provides emergency property restoration services throughout Long Island. We help homeowners and businesses recover from water, fire, smoke, mold, biohazard, and other types of property damage.

We are looking for a dependable and experienced Lead Restoration Technician who can perform restoration work, lead technicians in the field, and help manage projects from start to finish.

The ideal candidate is hardworking, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking charge in challenging situations. This person must communicate professionally with customers and coworkers while maintaining high standards for safety, workmanship, and customer service.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and perform water mitigation, fire and smoke cleanup, mold remediation, and other property restoration services.
• Respond to scheduled projects and emergency service calls when needed.
• Establish an efficient workflow and coordinate the labor, equipment, materials, and other requirements for each project.
• Provide clear direction to restoration technicians and supervise their work.
• Set up and monitor drying equipment, air-filtration devices, and containment systems.
• Perform demolition, cleaning, remediation, equipment placement, and material handling as needed.
• Identify jobsite hazards and establish appropriate safety controls.
• Follow and enforce company safety procedures.
• Explain the restoration process and answer customer questions.
• Monitor customer concerns and communicate important developments to management.
• Complete photographs, moisture readings, equipment records, daily notes, and other required job documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain clear communication with customers, office staff, managers, technicians, insurance representatives, and subcontractors.
• Monitor assigned projects from start to finish to ensure customer needs are met.
• Protect customer property and use company vehicles, equipment, tools, and materials responsibly.
• Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsites.
• Assist with the inspection and routine maintenance of company vehicles and equipment.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergency work.

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience in property restoration, water mitigation, mold remediation, construction, cleaning, or a related field.
• Previous leadership or crew-supervision experience is preferred.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to lead, coach, and work alongside other technicians.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Effective problem-solving, time-management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to maintain accurate job records and use mobile documentation applications.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to successfully complete a background check.
• Availability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
• Willingness to continue learning and developing restoration skills.

Preferred Certifications

IICRC certifications are preferred but not required. Relevant certifications may include:

• Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT)
• Applied Structural Drying Technician (ASD)
• Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT)
• Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT)

Experienced candidates are encouraged to apply even if they do not currently hold these certifications. Training and opportunities to earn additional certifications will be provided.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to repetitively lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods.
• Ability to climb ladders and work at ceiling height.
• Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, and other confined or difficult areas.
• Ability to work around cleaning products, restoration chemicals, dust, and varying jobsite conditions.
• Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment and respiratory protection when required.
