Job summary

IES is seeking a Residential Electrical Foreman to oversee field operations in the Washington, DC area. You will supervise crews, coordinate electrical installations, and ensure work aligns with project requirements, company standards, codes, and customer expectations.

The role requires strong leadership, blueprint literacy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities on active job sites. Travel to project sites as needed; this is an on-site position.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, installation practices, troubleshooting, and construction methods.
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices, electrical codes, and industry standards.
• Ability to read/interpret blueprints, schematics, project plans, specs, and electrical docs.
• Ability to lead and train electrical field personnel.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate electrical crews and daily field activities to support schedules, productivity, and quality.
• Oversee installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work.
• Review project plans and communicate requirements to field personnel.
• Ensure work complies with policies, safety standards, and codes.
• Monitor progress and address safety/quality concerns.
• Coordinate with project leadership, customers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Provide direction and training to electricians and apprentices.
• Maintain accurate records and project documentation.
