Job summary

Meritage Homes in Jacksonville, FL seeks an experienced Construction Manager to oversee homebuilding projects from start to finish, ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery. You will coordinate subcontractors, inspect sites, and uphold Meritage standards while collaborating with multiple departments and city inspectors.

The role requires blueprints literacy, strong leadership, and customer-focused communication to meet project goals and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; construction management degree preferred.
• 4-10 years construction experience with supervisory or project oversight.
• Advanced training in residential trades strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of homebuilding codes and ROC standards.
• Able to read blueprints and inspect framing, stucco, electrical and plumbing.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proficient with Word and Excel; Hyphen a plus.
• Able to explain complex issues clearly to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Manage homebuilding construction through all phases to ensure quality delivery.
• Schedule subcontractors and delivery dates for materials.
• Ensure building codes and Meritage standards are met.
• Conduct walk-through inspections with homeowners.
• Enforce safety standards on all job sites.
• Maintain a clean, organized jobsite and subdivision.
• Interact daily with departments, subcontractors, customers and city inspectors.
• Attend construction, monthly and quarterly meetings.
