Job summary

Meritage Homes Corporation is seeking a skilled Construction Manager to oversee homebuilding projects from foundation to finish. You will manage scheduling with subcontractors, ensure code compliance and Meritage quality standards, and conduct homeowner walk-through inspections.

The ideal candidate has 4–10 years of supervisory construction experience, blueprints reading ability, strong customer service, and proficiency with Word/Excel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in Construction Management preferred.
• 4-10 years construction experience with supervisory or project oversight experience.
• Advanced training in one or more trades within the residential building industry strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of homebuilding and construction systems/processes, building codes and ROC.
• Must be able to read blueprints and inspect construction aspects including framing, stucco, electrical, plumbing.

Responsibilities

• Manage homebuilding construction through all phases to ensure delivery of a quality home.
• Schedule subcontractors and delivery dates for materials.
• Ensure all building codes and Meritage standards are met.
• Conduct walk-through inspections with the homeowner.
• Communicate safety standards to laborers; enforce safety regulations on job sites.
• Maintain a clean and organized jobsite and subdivision.
• Interact daily with various departments, subcontractors, customers, and city inspectors.
• Attend construction, monthly and quarterly meetings.
