Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer in California.
• Experience on at least one Caltrans highway project.
• Minimum 8 years inspecting roadway/highway construction on major public works.
• Minimum 3 years with stress analysis, structural mechanics, and materials properties.

Responsibilities

• Provide inspection and QA on highway/roadway construction projects.
• Determine conformance to project plans and specifications; assist inspections of structural elements.
• Coordinate with contractors, public utilities, project team, and testing labs.
• Coordinate with general contractor and negotiate change orders.
• Make or assist with grade, alignment, quantity, falsework, and shoring calculations.
• Prepare or assist with contract change orders and project estimates/reports.
• Coordinate construction-material sampling and testing for contract compliance.
• Monitor contractor progress and maintain project records; prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports.
