Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field is required.
• Minimum of one year experience as a Dietician in a healthcare or skilled nursing setting preferred.
• One to two years management/supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of MDS, care planning, and clinical documentation standards.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations governing dietary and nutritional services.
• CDR registration required; state licensure for a Dietitian if applicable; ServSafe certification within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the dietary department and provides supervision to dietary staff to meet residents' nutritional needs.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities per policies and laws.
• Participates in department head meetings and interdisciplinary care plan meetings.
• Oversees purchase of food and supplies within budget and maintains adequate meal supplies.
• Guides diet planning, menu formulation, preparation and service of diets.
• Ensures menus meet resident needs and physician orders.
