Job summary

Greystar is seeking a maintenance technician in Massachusetts to manage and perform technical work ensuring buildings and grounds meet quality and safety standards. You will diagnose issues, repair systems, and handle routine upkeep across the community.

The role includes handling work orders, completing make-ready tasks for vacant units, coordinating vendors, and upholding Greystar’s high standards for appearance and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and training.
• Experience in property maintenance, building maintenance, or related trade.
• Must provide own hand tools and be skilled with hand and power tools.
• Ability to analyze problems logically and apply solutions.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication to interact with residents and team.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and basic computer skills for records.
• Mathematical skills to perform basic financial and administrative calculations.

Responsibilities

• Assist and complete work orders from resident requests and routine upkeep by diagnosing issues and performing repairs.
• Oversee and complete make-ready process for vacant units, including inspections and coordinating vendors.
• Develop standards for cleanliness and appearance of grounds, exteriors, interiors, and common areas to meet Greystar quality.
• Periodically inspect work by team members and contractors to ensure quality and compliance.
• Maintain inventory of parts and materials; work with Community Manager on supplies and budgets.
• Perform monthly preventative maintenance as outlined in manuals and procedures.
• Assist in developing maintenance and capital project budgets.
• Support cost-control efforts by repairing instead of replacing when feasible.
• Lead safety meetings and ensure MSDS and OSHA compliance.
• Communicate with residents and team professionally, addressing concerns promptly.
