Job summary

ENGIE North America Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a Manager, Project Controls to lead a growing team responsible for cost, schedule, risk, change, forecasting, and performance reporting across our project portfolio.

You will partner with Project Delivery, Construction Management, Finance, Business Controls, Procurement, and Engineering to deliver timely visibility into performance and drive corrective actions. A Bachelor’s degree plus seven years of experience in project controls are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, Finance, or related field; PMP certification required.
  • 7+ years of experience in project controls, project delivery, or complex capital projects in energy, infrastructure, or construction environments.
  • Proven experience leading and developing project controls teams, including cost controllers and schedulers.
  • Hands-on expertise in integrated project controls (cost, schedule, forecasting, risk, change).
  • Ability to own/validate forecasts, challenge assumptions, improve cost/schedule accuracy.
  • Experience in EPC or multi-contractor environments with full lifecycle delivery.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, SAP/ERP, Procore, Power BI, Excel; strong scheduling/critical path knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Project Controllers and Schedulers to foster accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee end-to-end project controls execution with credible cost/schedule forecasting and risk-informed decisions.
  • Review baselines, forecasts, updates, and critical path impacts; ensure data integrity and challenge assumptions.
  • Partner with Project Managers and leaders to identify risks and deliver early-warning insights for corrective actions.
  • Establish and standardize governance, reporting frameworks, KPIs, and data quality across the portfolio.
  • Drive process transformation, system integration, and reporting automation to mature controls in a developing environment.
  • Lead change across a matrixed org and influence stakeholders through the full lifecycle.
