Job description

What You Can Expect

At ENGIE, we accelerate the energy transition by delivering renewable energy, battery storage, and flexible power projects across North America. We need driven leaders who bring structure, clarity, and accountability to complex project delivery.

As Manager, Project Controls, you will lead and advance the Project Controls function within ENGIE North America’s project portfolio. You will manage and develop a team responsible for project cost, schedule, risk, change, forecasting, contingency, and performance reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

In this role, you will partner closely with Project Delivery, Construction Management, Finance, Business Controls, Procurement, Engineering, and leadership to provide clear and timely visibility into project performance. You will help project teams identify emerging cost and schedule concerns, evaluate potential impacts, validate forecasts, and take action before issues affect project outcomes.

This is an opportunity to strengthen and mature a growing Project Controls function. You will bring technical credibility to challenge assumptions, validate forecasts and project data, and drive more accurate, reliable outcomes - along with the leadership and change-management capability to improve processes, reporting, systems, and team performance.

You will play a critical role in strengthening project controls governance, improving data quality, and advancing ENGIE’s project controls capabilities - enabling better decision-making across the portfolio.

You're stepping into a function that is actively evolving - and will play a key role in defining what \"best-in-class\" looks like at ENGIE.

What You Will Do

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Project Controllers and Schedulers, building a high-performance culture focused on accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement

  • Oversee end-to-end project controls execution, with a strong emphasis on credible cost and schedule forecasting (EAC/ETC), performance tracking, and risk-informed decision-making

  • Review and validate project baselines, forecasts, schedule updates, and critical path impacts, ensuring data integrity and proactively challenging assumptions where needed

  • Partner with Project Managers and cross-functional leaders to identify emerging risks and trends, delivering clear early-warning insights and driving proactive course correction

  • Establish and standardize project controls governance, including processes, reporting frameworks, KPIs, and data quality expectations across the portfolio

  • Drive process transformation and system integration, improving reporting automation, tool adoption, and overall project controls maturity in a developing environment

  • Lead change across a matrixed organization, influencing stakeholders and reinforcing consistent practices across the full lifecycle - from development through execution and closeout

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, Finance, or a related field; PMP (Project Management Professional) certification required

  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in project controls, project delivery, or complex capital projects in energy, infrastructure, or construction environments

  • Proven experience leading and developing project controls teams, including cost controllers and schedulers

  • Hands-on expertise in integrated project controls, including cost, schedule, forecasting (EAC/ETC), risk, and change management

  • Demonstrated ability to own and validate project forecasts, challenge assumptions, and improve accuracy of cost and schedule outcomes

  • Experience supporting projects in EPC or multi-contractor environments, with exposure to full project lifecycle delivery

  • Proficiency with project controls systems such as Primavera P6, SAP (or ERP), Procore, Power BI, and Excel (Oracle Primavera Cloud is a plus), along with strong knowledge of scheduling, critical path analysis, and performance management

  • Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights, influence decisions across a matrixed organization, and drive continuous improvement in evolving environments
