Job summary

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Board Certified/Eligible MD or DO in Anatomic Pathology (or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology) to join its Department of Pathology. The role includes patient care at UMH, JMH, and Sylvester Cancer Center, gross description, microscopic examination, frozen sections when needed, and autopsies as applicable.

Qualifications

• Must be an M.D or D.O. who is Board Certified or Board eligible in Anatomic Pathology, or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, and in the subspecialty of practice, if applicable.
• Must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida.

Responsibilities

• Patient care for UMH, JMH and Sylvester Cancer Center and satellites.
• Focused care on assigned pathology specialties.
• Gross description, tissue sampling, microscopic examinations, and reporting findings.
• Perform Frozen Section diagnoses when applicable.
• Perform and report autopsies when applicable.
• 24 hours call coverage as assigned.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and education of residents, fellows, and medical students.
