Job summary

The University of Miami invites applications for a pathology physician to join its hospital-based faculty. The role includes patient care across UMH, JMH and affiliated centers, with responsibilities spanning surgical pathology, autopsy, frozen sections, and teaching of residents and medical students.

Candidates must be MD or DO, Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology, and licensed to practice in Florida.

Qualifications

• Must be an M.D or D.O. who is Board Certified or Board eligible in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, or both.
• Additional Board certifications are desirable.
• Must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida.

Responsibilities

• Patient care services for patients at UMH, JMH and satellites.
• Care focused on assigned specialty or specialties.
• Gross description and histology processing including photography when indicated.
• Frozen Section diagnoses when applicable.
• Autopsies when applicable.
• 24 hours call coverage as assigned.
• Participate in education of pathology residents and medical students.
• Collaborate on basic/clinical research and seek grant funding.
• Participate in daily quality assurance and hospital committees.
