Job summary

University of Miami seeks a Board-certified or -eligible pathologist (MD/DO) to join its Department of Pathology. The role encompasses surgical pathology and clinical pathology responsibilities with hospital-wide coverage across UMH, JMH, and Sylvester Cancer Center.

The candidate will provide patient care, supervise frozen sections and autopsies as needed, participate in education of residents and students, and contribute to quality assurance and research initiatives within a top academic

Qualifications

• Must hold an M.D. or D.O. and be Board Certified or Board eligible in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, or both.
• Must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida.
• Board certifications beyond AP/CP are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care services across UMH, JMH, and Sylvester Cancer Center and satellites.
• Perform gross descriptions, tissue sampling, microscopic examinations, and report findings in a timely manner.
• Perform Frozen Section diagnoses when applicable and report autopsies promptly.
• Participate in 24-hour call coverage as assigned.
• Engage in education of pathology residents, fellows, and medical students.
• Contribute to collaborative research and seek grant funding where possible.
• Participate in daily quality assurance and hospital pathology committees.
