Job summary

University of Miami Health System is seeking an MD or DO pathologist. The candidate should be board certified/eligible in Anatomic Pathology and/or Clinical Pathology and licensed to practice in Florida.

The role includes patient care across UMH, JMH and affiliated centers, with involvement in education and research. The position is full-time in a hospital-based pathology department, with responsibilities spanning surgical pathology, intraoperative consults, autopsies (as applicable), and

Qualifications

• Must be an MD or DO Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, or both.
• Must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida.

Responsibilities

• Patient care services for UMH/JMH/SCCC and satellites, including gross description, tissue sampling, microscopic examinations, reporting, and coding verification.
• Performing Frozen Section diagnoses in a timely manner (when applicable).
• Performing and reporting autopsies in a timely manner (when applicable).
• 24 hours call coverage according to assigned division(s) (when applicable).
• Participate in educational activities of pathology residents and fellows.
• Participate in educational activities of medical students and collaborative research opportunities.
• Engage in daily quality assurance and hospital committees/working groups to maintain accreditation.

Education
