Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is hiring a Lead Production Technician to captain a hands-on team building electromechanical assemblies for high-temperature superconducting magnets. The role emphasizes quality, cost, and on-time delivery within a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

The position is on the second shift (Mon–Fri, 2:00–10:30 pm) with competitive hourly pay and a 10% differential, plus equity and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a formal leadership role in manufacturing.
• Minimum 6 years in mechanical/electrical assembly, cryogenic and related skills.
• Commitment to safety and quality with team communication.
• Ability to lead a team with clear direction and accountability.
• Willingness to travel or work nights/weekends occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Hire, lead, and train technicians and welders for quality and cost targets.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to qualify new processes.
• Perform hardware builds per procedures, specs, and tests.
• Troubleshoot discrepancies and drive continuous improvement.
• Use torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers and other tools.
• Ensure safety and tidy work areas; provide feedback during reviews.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
