Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Lead Production Technician for the second shift in Somerville, MA. The role leads a fast-paced, hands-on team building electromechanical parts and assemblies, ensuring quality, safety, and on-time delivery within a multi-disciplinary environment.

You will mentor technicians, drive process improvements, and maintain rigorous documentation and testing as part of a high-stakes manufacturing operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher.
• Min 2 years in formal leadership in manufacturing.
• 6+ years in mechanical/electrical assembly, plumbing, vacuum systems, cryogenics etc.
• Commitment to safety and quality with clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Hire, lead, and train technicians and welders for electromechanical parts.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to qualify new processes.
• Perform production builds per procedures and test instructions.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing discrepancies for continuous improvement.
• Ensure adherence to safety and cleanliness standards.
