Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Lead Production Technician to guide a fast-paced team in building high-temperature superconducting magnets and related assemblies. You will oversee training, ensure quality, and drive continuous improvement across mechanical, electrical, cryogenic, and vacuum systems.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and a commitment to safety in a dynamic environment with shift work and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Lead a team of technicians and welders in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Hire, lead, and support training of technicians and welders to build electromechanical parts and assemblies.
• Work with engineers to develop and qualify new manufacturing techniques and processes.
• Perform production hardware builds according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing discrepancies with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness standards are maintained in the work area.
• Provide feedback to supervisor during performance reviews.
• Lead projects from start to finish, including assembly and testing.
