Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a work team in assembling and fabricating sub-assemblies, ensuring production schedules are met while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role requires coordinating with multiple departments and managing shift activities. You will oversee training, assignments, and documentation, drive continuous improvement, and maintain on-time shipping goals.

Qualifications

• This position requires an Associate’s degree and five years of manufacturing experience.
• In the absence of a 2-year degree, eight to ten years of related experience are required.
• Strong mechanical and analytical abilities and good communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintains productivity levels to meet plant goals.
• Coordinates daily/weekly production plans with Department Leaders in assigned work areas.
• Works with management to ensure safe attitudes, surroundings and equipment.
• Responsible for job assignments and time management for indirect projects within areas.
• Provides and/or requests skills training for newly hired employees and refresher training; updates training records.
• Maintains proper housekeeping in assigned work areas.
• Ensures employees follow plant rules and disciplinary processes.
• Completes final quality inspections prior to Quality Department Final Inspection.
• Provides required documentation for Final Quality Inspection.
• Identifies material requirements according to workload and coordinates.
• Maintains on-time shipping goals based on start dates.
• Ensures employees follow construction and quality standards.
• Maintains daily labor and attendance records.
• Controls manufacturing coded warranty within plant goals.
• Identifies materials variances and works to reduce them.
• Interviews, hires, trains, and evaluates employees; addresses complaints.
• Drives safety performance to achieve gold safety status; conducts safety observations/inspections.
• Supports continuous improvement initiatives.
