Colt Manufacturing in West Hartford, CT is seeking a Production Specialist for 2nd shift to lead daily operations on the production floor. You will supervise operators and technicians, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity targets are met through hands-on leadership, scheduling, and coaching.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years in manufacturing and at least 1 year in supervision.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to lead, motivate, and coach a diverse team.
Problem-solving mindset and ability to make quick decisions under pressure.
Proficiency with basic computer applications (MS Office, ERP systems)

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the activities of production personnel, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to schedules.
Monitor production output and quality, making adjustments as needed to meet standards and deadlines.
Enforce safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, escalating complex problems to maintenance or engineering as needed.
Track attendance, approve timecards, and participate in performance reviews.
Lead daily shift meetings, communicate goals, and report on key metrics.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute ideas for greater efficiency.
Ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date (logs, reports, etc.)
