Job summary

Goodwill West Texas is hiring a Retail Supervisor to oversee daily operations at our Abilene store, ensuring excellent customer service and donation flow. You will lead a team, train staff, manage receipts, and enforce loss prevention and safety protocols while delivering a positive donor and shopper experience.

Responsibilities include supervising donation intake, merchandising, pricing, and maintaining store cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months Goodwill or supervisory experience.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to supervise and motivate employees.
• Ability to communicate with coworkers and donors.
• Ability to operate POS and tagging systems.
• Willing to work varied hours and days.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions including discounts, tax exemptions and cash donations.
• Understand and troubleshoot databases such as POS and tagging systems.

Job description

Position Summary

Responsible for maintaining production flow and meeting or exceeding production goals. Responsible for generating sales, housekeeping, merchandising, signage, accurate cash register operations and loss prevention in adherence to Goodwill-West Texas standards. Ensures an excellent customer experience throughout the donation door, sales floor and cash wrap. Responsible for maintaining secure operations in opening and closing the stores. Maintain a safe and clean worksite and promote guidelines and processes. Works with Manager in supervising and providing training opportunities to employees.

Education / Experience

• 6 months Goodwill or supervisory experience required
• High School/GED preferred

• Lead team in offering an excellent customer experience at the donation door, cash wrap and throughout the store.
• Ensure donations are accepted graciously, every customer is thanked and a receipt is offered to each donor.
• Must be able to perform all aspects of the donation process to ensure smooth flow of quality donations.
• Merchandise and display items to maintain floor design and store housekeeping.
• Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions including discounts, tax exemptions, voids, cash donations, etc. Monitor and train staff to do the same.
• Must be able to navigate and troubleshoot databases such as POS, tagging system, etc.
• Understand Goodwill Mission programs and follows the round up scripting to support the Mission. Ensure employees are trained and held accountable for round up process.
• Responsible for consistently monitoring process flow (donated/new goods) and making process improvements as necessary.
• Display solid product knowledge and value of donated goods.
• Lead team in conducting regular safety checks.
• Maintain security protocol regarding passwords, money handling and safeguarding the facility.
• Responsible for accurately maintaining records and goals.
• Assist with floor moves. Maintain and improve upon merchandising, display maintenance and store housekeeping.
• Monitor stock and process/replenish merchandise as needed.
• Adhere to and enforce all company policies, procedures and practices including signage, pricing and loss prevention.
• Make appropriate decisions in a variety of situations including but not limited to altercations, medical emergencies, theft, power failure, inclement weather, etc.
• Communicate appropriately and positively with co-workers and others.
• Coach and educate new staff, as well as provide ongoing training.
• Monitor and report staff productivity, scheduling, and other issues to Manager.
