Job summary

Scribd, Inc. is seeking a Lead Product Manager, Recommendations to own the discovery experience for 200M+ monthly visitors across 300M documents. You’ll shape a compelling vision and define metrics, partnering with Engineering, Analytics, Data Science, Design, and ML teams.

You will craft a multi-year roadmap and deliver breakthrough features that drive engagement and subscriptions, while aligning with Scribd's AI strategy and business goals.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of product management experience, including 4+ yearsleading recommendations or search products in a high-traffic consumer environment.
• Demonstrated success shipping ML-driven features that moved core business metrics (engagement, conversion, or revenue) at scale.
• Deep familiarity with retrieval and ranking algorithms, embeddings, and feature stores; ability to reason about end-to-end journeys for distinct user segments.
• Track record of thriving amid ambiguity: shaping a multi-year vision, aligning cross-functional teams, and delivering incremental wins.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; adept at crafting product briefs and presenting data-backed decisions to senior leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)

Responsibilities

• Chart the long-term recommendations strategy with a multi-year roadmap across candidate generation, ranking, and results presentation.
• Partner with ML Engineering & Applied Research to translate retrieval and ranking research into production systems.
• Define the metrics that matter and monitor engagement, click-through, content completion, and subscription conversion.
• Balance short-term wins with long-term vision to hit revenue goals while building an extensible platform.
• Synthesize experiment results, analytics, and user feedback to inform prioritization and design.
• Communicate requirements, timelines, and expected impact to product, engineering, design, content, and executives
