Job summary

Scribd, Inc. seeks a Lead Product Manager for the Recommendations area, responsible for shaping the strategy and roadmap behind content discovery.

You will partner with Engineering, Analytics, Data Science, Design, and ML teams to surface relevant content to users and define success metrics. In this role you will define a compelling vision, measure impact through core metrics, and drive breakthrough features that improve engagement and revenue.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of product management experience, including leading recommendations or search products in a high-traffic consumer environment.
• Proven track record shipping ML-driven features that moved engagement, conversion, or revenue at scale.
• Deep familiarity with retrieval and ranking algorithms, embeddings, and feature stores; understand end-to-end journeys.
• Experience shaping multi-year vision, aligning cross-functional teams, delivering incremental wins.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to present data-backed decisions to senior leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/Math or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Responsibilities

• Chart the long-term recommendations strategy with a multi-year roadmap for candidate generation, ranking, and results presentation across Scribd's surfaces.
• Collaborate with ML Engineering & Applied Research to translate research into production systems.
• Define key metrics: engagement rate, click-through, content completion, and subscription retention.
• Balance short-term improvements with a long-term vision to hit revenue goals while building an extensible platform.
• Synthesize experiment results and user feedback to inform prioritization and design.
• Communicate requirements, timelines, and impact clearly to stakeholders across teams.
