Job summary

Motorway is seeking a Lead Product Designer who will raise the ceiling for the design team, shaping craft, how we work, and the direction of our design system. You’ll own our most complex design challenges from discovery to delivery and be a trusted voice across cross-functional partners.

You’ll mentor other designers, lead workshops, and advocate for users with deep research and data-driven decisions. We prize a builder mindset, AI-aware approach, and commercial thinking to connect design

Qualifications

• Proven leadership as Senior or Lead Product Designer shipping digital products across web and mobile.
• Builder mindset: hands-on, shipping code or building tools/prototypes.
• Experience navigating both B2C and B2B product landscapes.
• AI-forward mindset: strategic use of AI in design to accelerate work while preserving craft.
• Commercial acumen: connect design to business outcomes and strategy.
• Proficiency with modern design tools and research methods; accessibility and synthesis.
• Bonus: experience optimizing journeys via experimentation or working in a two-sided marketplace.

Responsibilities

• Design Execution: produce flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups across mobile and web with accessibility in mind.
• Collaboration: partner with product, engineering, and data analytics through the lifecycle to align user insights with business goals.
• Stakeholder Communication: build relationships and present design decisions clearly across the organization.
• Mentorship & Guidance: coach junior and senior designers to grow and deliver best-in-class work.
• Driving Design Culture: lead workshops, rituals, and events to foster a strong design culture.
• Continuous Improvement: help develop core design principles and stay sharp on tools and patterns.
