Trane Technologies in La Crosse, Wisconsin, seeks a Lead Product Design Engineer to drive design of HVAC water-to-water systems and related components. The role collaborates with Test Lab, Manufacturing, and Product Management to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions.

You will lead design for regulatory compliance, manage DFMEA, and mentor junior engineers across global teams while ensuring milestones and quality targets are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 8+ years of engineering or product design experience.
• PE license may be beneficial but is not essential.
• Strong GD&T knowledge and design for manufacturability.
• Experience with CAD/FEA and regulatory codes is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead the development of HVAC refrigeration systems to meet performance, regulatory, quality, and cost requirements.
• Evaluate technical feasibility and drive selection of robust components with clear specs.
• Establish technical strategy for compliance with codes such as UL, ASME BPVC, CRN, and Seismic.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation to reflect design intent and deadlines.
• Lead DFMEA activities and drive risk mitigation to close knowledge gaps and failures.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet milestones.
