Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Lead Product Design Engineer to join our Commercial Systems team. You will lead the design of HVAC refrigeration systems, working with cross-functional teams to ensure performance, regulatory compliance, and cost targets.

The role involves guiding product validation, solving reliability issues, and steering engineering through standard stage-gate processes. Based onsite Monday to Thursday with flexible location on Fridays, candidate will engage with manufacturing,

Qualifications

• Experience leading HVAC design projects.
• Experience with product validation testing.
• Familiar with ASME/UL/CRN regulatory codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of HVAC refrigeration systems to meet performance, regulatory, quality, and cost requirements.
• Evaluate the technical feasibility of product and internal requirements, and drive design and selection of robust components with clear specifications.
• Establish the technical strategy for compliance and serve as SME on regulatory codes including ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, UL, CRN.

What’s in it for you:

Trane Technologies is seeking an experienced Lead Product Design Engineer to join our Trane Commercial Systems organization as a key member of the product development team which works closely with other Engineering teams, such as the Test Lab, Manufacturing and Product Management to create competitive designs for Trane Commercial Water-to-Water HVAC product lines, encompassing both heating and cooling functionalities. The selected individual must have the technical expertise to support and lead product design projects, product validation testing, drive to root cause for quality & reliability issues, interpret technical agency standards and conduct projects in accordance with standard engineering and stage gate product development process practices.
