Qualifications

• Food Safety Management Certification.
• Minimum 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business or retail management is a plus.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a grocery store or produce department.
• Strong knowledge of produce handling, storage, and seasonal availability.
• Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead the produce department staff including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Maintain high product quality and freshness; minimize waste through proper storage and rotation.

• Monitor customer preferences and adjust inventory and displays.
• Manage inventory levels and supplier orders; conduct regular counts and audits.
• Develop merchandising strategies to maximize sales and profitability; plan seasonal displays.
• Monitor sales performance and adjust strategies to meet targets.
