Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced design-build/EPC Project Manager for heavy industrial power and power plant projects in Worcester, MA. You will lead definitions, schedules, budgets, and client communications to deliver complex capital projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities include cost control, invoicing, risk management, change control, and mentoring junior staff; you will coordinate with engineering, construction, and clients, and prepare bid packages and closeout reviews.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with project management methodologies and budgets.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage stakeholders and vendors effectively.
• Knowledge of construction documents and building materials.

Responsibilities

• Create project definitions, schedules, budgets and objectives for projects.
• Prepare statements of work with work breakdown structures and budgets, gaining approvals.
• Manage project costs and profitability.
• Prepare client billings and ensure timely payments; approve subcontractor invoices.
• Monitor risk, escalate issues and manage change using formal processes.
• Communicate deadlines and objectives to project teams; coordinate with PMs.
• Prepare overall project schedule and in-house budgets by group responsibility.
• Mentor less experienced Project Managers.
