Job summary

Blue Origin LLC seeks a Lead Power Electronics and PCB Design Engineer to lead a team of engineers responsible for PMAD electronics design, optimization, and production readiness in a space environment.

You will drive architecture, cost/mass reduction, and DFM/DFT, while ensuring proper thermal, EMI/EMC considerations and collaboration with mechanical packaging for scalable deployment across space missions.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 8+ years of electronics hardware development experience.
• Proficiency with PCB design tools and hands-on layout for mixed-signal and high-power designs.
• Experience with power electronics hardware development, high-voltage switching, and thermal management.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of PCB and circuit design engineers responsible for PMAD electronics design, optimization, and production readiness.
• Own board architecture decisions for the PMAD, including power distribution, signal routing, and manufacturability.
• Drive cost and mass reduction trades, architecture simplification, and modularity.
• Design multi-layer PCBs for complex digital, mixed-signal, high-voltage/high-power systems, with emphasis on EMC and thermal management.
• Collaborate with mechanical packaging and harness teams to ensure scalable and manufacturable PMAD design.
• Support board bring-up, debugging, and production release; maintain fabrication/docs (Gerber, BOMs, drawings).
