Job summary

Blue Origin in Cupertino is seeking a Lead Power Electronics and PCB Design Engineer to guide a team of circuit and PCB designers for PMAD electronics. You will own board architecture decisions, drive DFM/DFT practices, and work directly with fabricators to ensure manufacturability at scale.

You will lead from concept through verification, support integration and flight acceptance, and push for cost, mass, and performance optimization across a high-rate production environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 8+ years in electronics hardware development with leadership experience.
• Proficiency with PCB design tools for mixed-signal and high-power designs.
• Experience in power electronics hardware development including high-voltage design.

Responsibilities

• Lead PCB and circuit design engineers for PMAD electronics and production readiness.
• Own PMAD board architecture: power distribution, signaling, and manufacturability.
• Drive cost/mass reduction, modularity, and DFM improvements across designs.
• Define electronics requirements, perform verification, and support flight qualification.
• Design multi-layer PCBs for high-power systems with EMC and thermal considerations.
• Collaborate with mechanical, supply chain, and PCB suppliers for buildable designs.
