Job summary

Copeland is seeking a Lead Product Engineer – Power Electronics in Sidney, OH, on a hybrid basis. You will lead the design, development, and qualification of variable speed drive products from 11kW to 500kW for HVAC commercial and industrial applications.

You will coordinate with controls, firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams, ensuring safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance throughout the product lifecycle. Strong leadership and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and developing variable speed drives 11kW–500kW.
• Strong knowledge of power electronics hardware, IGBT/SiC, and motor-control topologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, qualification, and commercialization of VSD/VFD products 11kW–500kW for HVACR.
• Develop requirements, specifications, DFMEA, safety plans, and release activities with cross-functional teams.
• Oversee system integration between drives, motor controls, compressors, UIs, and networks.
• Coordinate design reviews, qualification plans, and reliability testing.
• Provide technical leadership for field installations and customer support.
