Job summary

Copeland is seeking a Controls Engineer to develop the HMI for OFC compressors in Sidney, OH, with hybrid work options. You will also support compressor control logic and collaborate with the DFMEA and power electronics teams.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and at least 3 years in industrial controls, PLC/DCS programming, and C# development. Travel up to 10% is possible; sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial controls, application programming, electronics integration, or similar.
• Experience with programming languages (Industrial PLC/DCS, C#, Python, etc.).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced engineering environment.
• Available to travel up to 10%, including internationally.
• Legal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify and test HMI applications (C#).
• Support compressor test team with lab controls and data recording.
• Document and track issues in GitHub and internal specs.
• Travel to customer locations for system control support (minimal).
• Support control hardware selection and testing with the development team.
• Collaborate with power electronics teams on interface with drives.
