Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Staff Engineer – Electrical/VSD SME to lead multi-functional teams across regions in improving electrical systems and Variable Speed Drives for data center chillers.

You will guide technical decisions, resolve complex design issues, and coordinate with manufacturing, service, and field teams. The role emphasizes deep knowledge of electrical systems, VSDs, and chiller applications, with travel up to 15% and opportunities for growth within the Johnson Controls

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering with substantial related work experience.
• Proven ability to lead an execution team and coordinate cross-resource efforts.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for internal/external customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead or participate on cross-functional teams to drive product and process improvements.
• Guide teams on electrical systems and VSD designs for chiller applications.
• Develop and review DFMEA/SFMEA, reliability test plans and design for manufacturing.
• Coordinate warranty actions and root-cause analysis with multi-disciplinary teams.
