Job summary

Prysmian, with its North American headquarters in Highland Heights, KY, seeks a Manager of Application Engineering to lead the US Power Distribution applications team and support customer-focused product development and cost-saving initiatives.

You will collaborate with sales, R&D, and design engineering to deliver solutions, manage quotes, and drive LEAN improvements while traveling internationally as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical) or related field with 5+ years of experience.
• 5-10 years’ experience in Engineering, preferably Wire and Cable.
• 3-5 years of leadership experience.
• Strong engineering knowledge and Excel skills.
• Ability to travel 25% including international travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the application engineering team for power distribution in the United States.
• Ensure sufficient response to all customer enquiries concerning power distribution products.
• Participate in major quotes and bids with key customers as needed.
• Work with Design Engineering to provide product optimizations for new and existing customers.
• Provide corrective action reports and responses to major quality concerns.
• Participate in critical customer SRM meetings and customer scorecard reviews as needed.
• Work closely with R&D to develop new products and cost-saving opportunities.
• Participate in industry conferences including IEEE Insulated Conductors Committee and Overhead Lines Subcommittee.
• Participate in standard development concerning wire and cable including ICEA and ASTM.
• Provide guidance to manufacturing to ensure product quality and performance.
• Participate in cross-functional teams and be an influencer within a matrix organization.
• Manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Think and act LEAN to optimize internal processes and customer offerings.
• Travel to customer locations, manufacturing sites, industry conferences, and trade shows (at least 25%), including international travel.
