Job summary

Prysmian Group is seeking a seasoned Manager of Application Engineering to lead the US power distribution team. You will drive technical responses, oversee regional engineers, and coordinate cross-functional efforts with sales, design engineering, and manufacturing.

Ideal candidates hold an engineering degree with 5+ years in engineering and 3–5 years in leadership, plus strong communication, Excel skills, and willingness to travel up to 25% (including international travel).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5+ years of related experience.
• 5-10 years’ experience in Engineering, preferably Wire and Cable.
• 3-5 years of leadership experience.
• 5+ years’ experience in Engineering.
• Strong engineering knowledge.
• Strong computer skills, proficient in Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel at least 25% to include international travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the application engineering team for power distribution in the United States.
• Ensure sufficient response to all customer enquiries concerning power distribution products.
• Work with the regional application engineer to participate in major quotes and bids with key customers as needed.
• Work with Design Engineering to provide product optimizations for new and existing customers.
• Provide corrective action reports and responses to major quality concerns.
• Participate in critical customer SRM meetings and customer scorecard reviews as needed.
• Work closely with R&D to develop new products and cost-saving opportunities.
• Participate in industry conferences including IEEE Insulated Conductors Committee and Overhead Lines Subcommittee.
• Participate in standard development concerning wire and cable including ICEA and ASTM.
• Provide guidance as needed to manufacturing to ensure product quality and performance.
• Participate in cross-functional teams and be an influencer within a matrix organization.
• Manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Think and act LEAN to optimize internal processes and customer offerings.
• Travel to customer locations, manufacturing sites, industry conferences, and trade shows (≥25%), including international travel.
