Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. seeks a Lead Power Distribution Engineer to guide the design of distribution projects and mentor junior engineers across small to large scopes.

You will ensure compliance with NESC, NEC, ASCE, and related standards while coordinating with planning, environmental, permitting, and construction teams. Qualifications

• 6-8 years of experience as a Power Distribution Line Engineer in consulting or utility environments.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Civil/Structural, Mechanical or multi-disciplinary engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Ability to manage a significant number of projects while mentoring engineers and maintaining quality.
• Deep knowledge of overhead and/or underground distribution facilities and their integration.
• Experience with NESC, ASCE and IEEE standards.
• Proficiency with MS Office; experience with AutoCAD, PLS-CADD, GIS tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple small- and large-scale engineering projects aligned with strategic objectives.
• Coordinate resources and oversee team performance and budgets.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure high-quality design and implementation.
• Guide teams in complex engineering practices and methodologies.
• Mentor and train engineering staff; conduct performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with management and clients to align engineering with business goals.
• Communicate project status, risks, and insights to stakeholders.
• Oversee preparation of technical documentation and reports.
