Job summary

Airgas, Inc. in Santa Fe Springs, CA is seeking a Lead Plant Maintenance Technician to oversee repair and maintenance of facilities, machinery, and equipment used in gas compression and liquefaction.

You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure reliable operations and compliance with FDA, Safecor, and DOT standards. The role emphasizes safety, project leadership, and hands-on diagnostics: inspect pumps, tanks, valves; perform welding and piping work; support field

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience and education.
• Experience working with electrical circuits, motors, compressors, pumps and drives in an industrial setting.
• Must be able to safely drive a forklift.
• Solid understanding of technical aspects of plant operations equipment, plumbing, carpentry and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and maintain pumping apparatus, tanks, valves, and monitoring devices to support field service technicians.
• Repair and maintain plant equipment (e.g., compressors, scrubbers, instrument panels, electrical systems) using hand tools, welding equipment, and testing instruments.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and identify underlying issues using diagnostic test meters.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse material handling equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized maintenance shop and travel to regional sites as needed.
