Job summary

Airgas is seeking a Field Service Technician in San Jose, CA to install, inspect, and maintain cryogenic gas systems and piping at customer sites. You will troubleshoot equipment, perform NFPA-compliant repairs, and manage tools and parts to ensure safe delivery of products.

The role requires 1–3 years of cryogenics/high-pressure piping experience, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel up to 3–5 days for installs and certification schools.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of diagnostic/repair experience in cryogenics, high pressure piping, brazing, programmable controls, and process instrumentation.
• Experience with bulk gas delivery systems, pumps, or mechanical machinery.
• HVAC/plumbing experience with welding/brazing is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and clean DMV report; may require DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Install, Commission, and maintain cryogenic and high-pressure gas piping systems and related equipment at customer sites.
• Perform inspections and repairs per NFPA standards and manufacturer procedures.
• Troubleshoot and service equipment, maintain inventory of parts and tools.
• Document work orders, estimates and invoices; ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Travel overnight as needed; participate in safety meetings and wear PPE.
