Job summary

Airgas is seeking a Field Service Technician in San Jose, CA to install, maintain and repair cryogenic piping systems and bulk tanks at customer sites. The role includes telemetry installation, brazing certification, and strict safety adherence, with travel and occasional overnight stays.

The position requires 1–3 years' diagnostic/repair experience in cryogenics, high pressure piping and related tools, plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years of diagnostic/repair experience in cryogenics, high pressure piping, brazing, programmable controls and process instrumentation.
• Experience with bulk gas delivery systems, pumps or mechanical machinery.
• HVAC or plumbing exposure with welding/brazing skills is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and clean DMV record; ability to travel and work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation, preventative maintenance and repair of cryogenic piping systems and tanks at customer sites.
• Install and troubleshoot telemetry; obtain brazing certification.
• Comply with safety policies and maintain PPE; handle hazardous materials safely.
• Submit service orders and invoices; communicate issues to management for timely response.
• Operate forklifts/scissor lifts and perform general shop/facility upkeep.
