Job summary

Airgas is seeking a Field Service Technician in California to install, service and troubleshoot cryogenic piping systems, bulk tanks, vaporizers and related equipment at customer sites. The role includes surveys, NFPA-compliant repairs and ensuring safe product delivery.

Travel and overnight stays may be required; a safety‑minded, customer‑focused professional is preferred with related certifications and hands‑on skills.

Qualifications

• Requires 1–3 years diagnostic/repair experience in cryogenics, high pressure piping, brazing, controls and instrumentation.
• Experience with bulk gas delivery systems, pumps or mechanical machinery preferred.
• HVAC or plumbing background with welding/brazing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and maintain cryogenic and high pressure gas piping systems, bulk vessels and related equipment.
• Perform sight surveys at prospective customer locations to determine scope of work.
• Inspect and repair piping systems per NFPA standards and manufacturer procedures.
• Service and maintain compressors, pumps and shop tools in good working condition.
• Identify problems and communicate with the manager for timely repairs.
• Submit service orders, estimates, and invoices promptly.
