Job summary

Airgas seeks a Field Service Technician to install, inspect, and repair cryogenic piping systems and related equipment at customer sites in California. The role demands problem-solving skills, travel readiness, and adherence to safety standards.

You will work with high-pressure gas systems, boilers, and telemetry though some tasks may require certification processes. Responsibilities include diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and timely reporting of service orders while maintaining excellent

Qualifications

• 1–3 years diagnostic/repair experience in cryogenics, high-pressure piping.
• Bulk gas delivery systems, pumps, or mechanical machinery experience.
• HVAC or plumbing with welding/brazing is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with clean DMV record; may require DOT physical.
• Ability to read manuals and P&IDs; understand CGA/NFPA standards.
• Lift 25–80 lbs; flexible hours and some travel required.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain cryogenic/high-pressure piping at Airgas sites and customer locations.
• Inspect, repair, service compressors, pumps and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot systems; perform NFPA-compliant inspections per procedures.
• Travel up to 3–5 days for installations and certification schools.
• Submit service orders, estimates and invoices promptly; ensure safety.
• Operate and maintain tools; observe PPE and safety requirements.
