Responsabilités

• Acts as a resource to employees and students, including training and direction.
• Assists with human resource responsibilities, including interviewing and staff development.
• Monitors workflow and coordinates specimen collection, processing and ordering functions; answers calls.
• Investigates procedure and performance issues and aids in resolution with leadership.
• Documents information for quality assurance per protocol; ensures patient safety.
• Performs venipuncture and collects specimens from newborn to adult patients.
• Receives, sorts, packages and tracks specimens for transport.
• Ensures proper labeling and testing suitability of specimens; resolves ID/requisition issues.
• May perform limited CLIA-guided testing and runs quality controls.
• Instructs students in phlebotomy, data entry and specimen processing.
• Provide care appropriate to the age of patients served.
